Polka Dotted Skirt [Oasap.com Review]

Hi guys!

I feel like I don't talk about fashion enough on this blog so to give my blog a bit more variety, I thought I'd share with you an online fashion website that I found called OASAP .

OASAP is a fashion website based in Asia, but unlike those wholesale fashion websites based in Asia that offer dirt-cheap clothes of poor quality , OASAP offers trendy, stylish clothes at reasonable (not dirt-cheap) prices.

They also offer FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE! You also get a 20% coupon on your first order. Me likey.

The service was pretty good. I received a confirmation email and it was shipped quickly after it was ordered. It arrived within 2 weeks, which is average for international shipping.

I chose to receive this cute, polka-dotted skirt. Polka dots are definitely a pattern that never goes out of style.

Here's a photo taken from the site. The item is called Dots Printing Elastic Waist Bubble Skirt .

Dots Printing Elastic Waist Bubble Skirt OASAP.com

I received the item in a neutral, mint green colour which isn't available anymore but the navy blue color is.
I quite like the color as it'll be a great Spring piece.

One thing that really bothered me was that the website advertises it as a skirt, but when I received it, I was shocked to see that it was actually shorts?!
Luckily when worn, you can't really tell and it still looks like a skirt but the gap between the legs and the fold really irks me.

I think the item description is really misleading as it's called a "skirt" and they did not mention at all that it was actually a skort.

Also, the item pictured on the website did not have a ruffle detail at the bottom of the skirt but the one I received did, so... I'm starting to think I received another skirt instead that looked identical...?

The skirt also came with a brown, woven belt which is actually decent and I will get some use out of it.
Yay, free belt!

The skirt is made out of chiffon and the quality is nice.

I also love how the back of the skirt has an elastic waist band so I can see it fitting a lot of people, as the skirt is one size fits all.

The length of the skirt hits me at mid-thigh, but I am quite short so I can see this being a bit too short for a lot of people.
Most of these Asian fashion websites are based on more petite people, so just make sure to check the measurements.

I like to pair up this skirt (err I mean skort) with a white tee and an oversized cardigan.

In the photos, I also wore some peep-toe, bow wedges. I think it makes a cute Spring outfit.

Overall, this is a cute, good quality skirt and I like how it came with a belt.
A major disappointment though was the fact that it turned out to be shorts. C'mon, at least state that on the website! =/

But I would still recommend this website and will probably place an order in the future, as they have a lot of really cute things!

Feel free to check out OASAP for cute, trendy pieces!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation [Review]

When I heard the much raved about
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation had finally come to Australia, I pretty much peed in my pants from excitement.

From what I've heard/seen, it seemed like a foundation that I would really like so I immediately high-tailed to my nearest Priceline.

This foundation retails for AUD $19.95, which is a pretty reasonable price in my opinion but Covergirl is often on sale anyway. I grabbed mine on sale for $13.95 - score!

One thing I wasn't impressed with was the limited shade range. There were only about 5-6 shades, the lightest being way too pink for me, so I picked up the lightest yellow-toned shade which is 825 Buff Beige. Besides the light pink-toned one, the other shades looked kind of dark so some people will struggle to find a good match.

I'm glad to say that 825 is a good match for me, as it matches with my neck.

It comes with a PUMP - YES! You go Glen Coco - I mean Covergirl (Comment if you get that reference!)
I really like how it's one of those pumps that has a lock mechanism, so when you twist it to the left, it locks so no spillage occurs. Nifty!

The plastic cap is pretty flimsy though.

825 Buff Beige
The consistency is more on the thicker side but it's not super thick, so it's still easy to work with and blend.

I apply this foundation by either buffing it in with my handy-dandy Real Techniques buffing brush, OR by patting it in layers to conceal my problem areas.

THE COVERAGE TEST:
This is the factor which makes or breaks a foundation for me. It must have good coverage, at least medium so I can build it up to achieve flawless coverage.

My cheek is also plagued with many acne scars to give you a good indication of the coverage. ;)

BEFORE
I don't even know what that pink circle is but it won't go away >:(

AFTER

As you can see, it does a pretty good job in terms of coverage. It definitely covers redness, although some of my spots are peeking through. However, when layered, it can easily achieve full, flawless looking coverage.
I would describe it as medium coverage and I'm really pleased with it!

This foundation does have a matte finish so if you go overboard with layering, it will look too cakey and matte. It also doesn't make me oily.

In terms of longevity, this foundation wears pretty well, and starts to look less than perfect after 8 hours. I do believe that compared to Revlon Colorstay and Colorstay Whipped, Revlon still fares better in terms of staying power.

This foundation also doesn't feel like it's clogging my pores as much as Revlon Colorstay.

The Break-Out Test
Did this foundation break me out?  I'm glad to say that NO it did not! So sensitive-skin people,  you can breathe a sigh of relief!

Overall, I'm really happy with this foundation! It's become one of my favourite foundations due to it's good coverage and the no-breakout factor and the affordable price point makes it even better.

I definitely recommend this foundation if you're looking for a good drugstore one to try. :)

Arbonne Lipstick in 'Jam'

I have another Arbonne product to show you guys!

I've already reviewed their primer and one of their blushes and have been really enjoying them.

This time, I'll be talking about one of their Lipsticks in the shade 'Jam'

Firstly, let's talk about the fantastic packaging. Sleek and black, it looks high-quality and the matte black packaging feels nice in the hand. It's also easy to distinguish in my mountain of lip products.

I received the shade 'Jam' to review.

The lipstick comes out of a skinny tube and on first glance, 'Jam' looks like a deep berry shade, except it's more of a reddish berry, rather than a purplish one.

A light swatch blew me away. The opacity and pigmentation is AMAZING. It's actually incredible how pigmented it is. Because of this, it can be a bit daunting to apply straight from the bullet and I found myself getting lipstick outside of my lips because I wasn't careful. A lip brush can be used for more precise application.

It's NOT matte but does not feel overly balm-y either. More of an in-between formula that sits comfortably on the lips but also has a nice shine.

This is how it looks like applied with just one layer. I thought the darkness of this colour wouldn't look too natural but it is a great, natural berry shade that is perfect for Autumn and Winter.

The lasting power is fairly decent, lasting a bit longer than average lipsticks due to the incredible pigmentation. But that is also due to the fact that it also leaves a stain behind, so my lips are tinted with a lovely subtle berry colour.

And here's a full-face shot with the lipstick on.

BAM.

I wonder when was the last time you guys saw my face?

The lipstick does not have a scent and Arbonne is also a hypoallergenic brand so if you have sensitive lips, this is safe to try!

RRP: $36

Check out their website here: Arbonne and Facebook

You can purchase Arbonne through a representative.

Hope you enjoyed this review!

Suigo Australia "Volume Control" Hair Products

I first heard about Suigo Australia from sweetaholic-beauty (Jasmine)'s blog where she reviewed a few of their products from the "Volume Control" range (you can read her review here).

They're a fairly new Australian company specializing in hair care.

Their products sounded really nice so I was stoked to get a chance to try these products out myself!

I too received the "Volume Control" range, including a shampoo, conditioner and treatment.

Firstly, let's talk SHAMPOO!

(Yes, the weather has become so pathetic and rainy that I've resorted to using the gloomy carpet as a background. )

Suigo Ultimate Control Shampoo

The shampoo did a decent job, it didn't lather up too much but I found I did need to use a lot of product to cover my whole head (or maybe I just have a lot of hair?). I really loved how it left my hair feeling soft and clean, but not dry and stripped of nutrients.

Suigo Ultimate Control Conditioner

The conditioner is quite thick in consistency and I love thick conditioners. I left it in my hair for about a minute or two, although it was probably more like 30 seconds because time seems to feel longer in the shower, while I did my other shower-ly things (trying not to produce a mental image here).

My hair felt really nice and soft and smooth. I find only certain conditioners work for me, this being one of them, and it made my hair really easy to brush out and tangle-free. That's what I look for in a conditioner - softness and tangle-free!

conditioner

Suigo Absolute Volume Keratin Volumizer Treatment

I would describe this as like the previous conditioner, but with extra loads of OOMPH.
It's meant to be a treatment so you take the thick cream and the instructions on the tub says to "Apply to clean towel dried hair after shampooing. Massage into hair for a few minutes. Heat for 20-30 minutes, rinse thoroughly."

I'm a fairly lazy person so I honestly didn't bother heating it like it says to (I know, naughty Sheri), but when I rinsed it out, I was SO impressed.
It made my hair feel SUPER soft and SUPER smooth. It was a breeze to brush through my hair afterwards. I think this would be great if your hair's feeling a bit lifeless and needs a wake up call.

I think you could probably substitute this product with the conditioner if you wanted to.

All 3 products have the same scent - not fruity or floral but just fresh and clean.

Overall, I would recommend the Suigo Australia Volume Control hair products but if I had to pick one, I would probably choose the conditioner or the treatment!

Check out Suigo Australia's websites and products!

Hope you enjoyed the review!

May Beauty Favourites!

Hi lovelies,

Another month has passed, and I feel just that tad bit older. And I'm also just that bit closer to needing to decide what I want to do with my life. Any advice guys? =(

Anyways, today I'll be sharing my May Beauty Favourites!

Arbonne Makeup Primer

This has been an absolutely lifesaver when it comes to applying my foundation. It makes my skin feel buttery smooth and increases the lasting power of my foundation. I don't know what I was doing without it to be honest! I'm now a primer-convert.
Check out my full review here.

Maybelline Superstay 24Hr Concealer

This concealer is perfect for blemishes as it's pretty full coverage and stays on for an impressively long time. It has a thick consistency so I think it would be too heavy for under the eyes. But my acne definitely loves this!
Check out my full review here

Arbonne Blush in Dusty Rose

This medium-pink, dusty rose blush with mauve undertones has been my go-to this Autumn/Winter season. It warms up my complexion in a subtle but pretty way. It has a smooth and pigmented formula so to avoid clown-cheeks, I apply it with a stipling brush.
Check out my full review here.

BeautyUK lipstick in Snob

This is one of the few matte lipsticks I actually like. It's matte but not drying (something I hate about matte lipsticks) and it sits comfortably on my lips. It's a pretty unique colour, being a pink with strong hints of lilac. However it doesn't come off as like 'WHOA YOU HAVE PURPLE LIPS' ;)

BASQ Cucumber Tea Soothing Eye Gel

My under eye area is like a Sahara Desert, no joke. I find this gel to be very hydrating and soothing but I don't find it absorbs into my skin as well as the Benefit it's potent eye cream. It's still an eye cream or "gel" that I've been enjoying though.

T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Toner

This is what broke my "toner virginity" and I really like it. It leaves my skin feeling clean but not dry (despite the 14% alcohol content). It's been controlling my breakouts and making me convinced that my skin is super clean and makeup-free! However, it hasn't done anything for my acne scars so I'm starting to think nothing can fade them *sobs* (Any suggestions?)

Thanks always for reading! Your comments make my day ^_^

xoxo,
Sheri

P.S. My youtube channel has been nominated for Beauty Guru of the month of June in Star Central Magazine and I'd really appreciate it if you vote for "Sheri" HERE . Thanks!

Maybelline Superstay Concealer [Review]

Do you suffer from blemishes/spots/scarring?

Then you would understand what I'm talking about when I say it can get a bit tedious to apply layer upon layer of foundation just to cover what you need to cover.

I decided to try using a concealer on top of foundation so that I used less of my foundation.

This led to me to picking up this bad boy:

Maybelline Superstay 24Hr Concealer

Price: AUD $14.95
I have it in the lightest shade Cream.

It has a doe-foot applicator (isn't the word 'doe-foot' cute?).

The shade Cream itself is warm-toned and can pull a bit orange on me (due to my super pale-ness) but when blended, you can't tell the mismatching of colour.

Like the Superstay Foundation, it has a matte finish so I do not recommend applying it under the eyes as it could cake up.

It has a thick, creamy consistency so even more reason not to use it under the eyes as it will be too heavy.

But, due to it's thick consistency, it has amazing coverage! Not many concealers can cover up the multitude of acne/scars on my face but this concealer CAN, due to it's medium to full coverage. =D

Feast your eyes on the evidence below!
[WARNING: You are about to get up-close and personal with the two-pimple party on my chin.]

BEFORE

AFTER

As you can see, it covered up my pimples really well! It doesn't give the most natural look but I really don't care, considering my acne spots are now invisible!

Besides the coverage, the other aspect of this concealer that really had me impressed was the staying power. I couldn't test it's "24HR" claim but it lasted easily up to 8-10 hours on me and I was pleased to see everything was still in place and covered at the end of the day.

It also did NOT break me out.

Overall, I'm really happy with this concealer and have been loving the flawless look it gives me when applied on top of my foundation.
